Obituary

Milford L. Ward, a resident of Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, passed away at Charlotte Hall on October 30.

Milford was born in Crisfield, MD on February 12, 1913. A D-Day participant and former POW, he served with the 82nd Airborne during World War II.

Raised in Crisfield, he married Lucille Wharton, also of Crisfield, on January 9, 1946. They moved to Parkville where he worked in the grocery business with Acme Markets and Food Fair, from which he retired in 1978. They were faithful members of Loch Raven Baptist Church. His wife of over 50 years died in 1999.

Milford leaves behind a son, Paul and wife Donna of Arlington, TX; daughters Susan and husband Al Krebs of Perry Hall, and Terri and husband Ron Kepler of Simpsonville, SC. He is also survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons, two great grandsons, one great granddaughter and his brother, Wilbur Ward of Baltimore.

The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Charlotte Hall for the care they provided Milford in the time he resided there. He spoke highly of everyone there, which, for Milford was out of the ordinary. He looked forward to the bingo games that seemed to keep his spirits up.

Services and burial will be private.
