Irene L. Saulnier 74, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Philias and Idola (Sabourin) Provost. Irene lived in Manchester, NH for several years returning to Woonsocket in 1997. She worked as a bookkeeper for most of her life, retiring from The Arc of Northern RI. Irene was a loving mother and memere, her family the most important thing in the world to her.
She is survived by three children, Richard Saulnier of North Smithfield, Lynn Munroe of Attleboro, and Rob Saulnier of Woonsocket, five granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Irene was pre-deceased by a brother Normand Provost, sisters, Theresa Provost, Rita Provost, and Janet Saulnier and her husband Robert. She was devoted to the care of her siblings until their passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.
