FALL RIVER… James Bookman, 60, of Fall River passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
He was the longtime companion of Brenda Oliver of Fall River.
He was born in New Bedford a son of the late Nathaniel and Irene “Rene” (Cabral) Bookman and had lived in the New Bedford Fall River area all of his life.
James had held different jobs in the fishing industry, construction, and custodial fields.
Mr. Bookman enjoyed football and boxing.
Survivors include his companion, a son Avery J. Oliver, a daughter Tracy L. Oliver both of Fall River, a brother Robert Silva of Brockton, 4 sisters: Muriel Brooks of Providence, Susan Brown Atlanta, GA, Jo-Anne Bookman, Natalie Bookman both of New Bedford, 2 grandchildren Anthony R. Lopes and Zariah L. Biffle both of Fall River, many nieces and nephews from both Fall River and New Bedford. He was brother of the late Richard Silva, Bruce Bookman, and Sandra Silva.
Arrangements are by the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River.
