Obituary

Worcester – Ronald N. Laprade, 92, of Worcester, died on Tuesday, October 28th surrounded by his family in Saint Vincent Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Laprade was married to the late Phyllis (Keefe) Laprade who died in 1996. He is survived by a son, Richard R. Laprade and his wife Hollis Ann of Worcester; a daughter, Jeanne R. Stone and her husband Peter of Plymouth, MA; 4 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and many nephews and nieces.

Mr. Laprade was born in Worcester, son of the late Raymond and Zoe (Tetreault) Laprade. He is also predeceased by his two brothers, Robert and Armand Laprade.

Ronald is a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater. He retired in 1986 from the Valve Components Company where he worked as a machinist for 15 years. Mr. Laprade previously worked at the General Screw Machine Company for 20 years.

He was an avid fisherman and loved following local sports teams.

The funeral will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Laprade may be made to Caring Voice Coalition 8249 Meadowbridge Road Mechanicsville, VA 23116.
