McGiveney, Jr., Bernard Paul, 86, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Louisville, Ky. to Bernard and Emma Clara McGiveney. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker, employed by Fischer – Klosterman Inc. Bernard belonged to Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #110. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Albert, William, and Charles; sisters, Helen Logsdon, and Clara Mae Gaither; his first wife, Mary Ann of 48 yrs. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Almeda (Hoffmann) of 11 yrs; sons, Robert (Renee), Kip McGiveney; daughters, Diane Hardesty (Jim), Monica Noble (Bobby); six step-children, Marcia Dooley (Larry), Sandra Barrett (Cliff), Connie Raver (Steve), William Bosley (Jackie), Kim Moon (Don), Jeffrey Bosley (Jamie); 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Wednesday. Visitation will be Tuesday, 12:00 – 8:00pm and Wednesday after 8:30 AM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his Church.
