NATICK: Constance Linnea (Soderberg) Holt, age 85, of Sandwich, formerly of Natick, died on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Natick. She was the devoted wife of the late Samuel R. Holt for over 50 years.
Born, raised and educated in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Andrew E. and Ruth E. (Besse) Soderberg. She and Sam were married in 1950 and later settled in Natick, where she set about creating a warm and loving home for her family.
Connie was employed with Filene’s as a transportation manager for 30 years. An artistically gifted lady, she had a great appreciation for the symphony, ballet, and theater. Her own creativity shone through her quilting and needlepoint. A proficient cook, Connie also enjoyed reading, knitting, and travel with her husband. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Natick, and First Church, Sandwich, UCC. Connie was noticeably happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Predeceased by Sam in 2001, she is survived by four daughters, Linda Holt and partner Richard Lefferts of Maynard, Barbara Marino and husband Michael of Lantana, TX, Pamela Lathwood of Natick, and Carol Holt-Salvi and husband Steven of Newton, NH; her grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin and wife Erin, Peter and wife Kathryn, Thomas, Emma, Serafina and husband Darin, and Tim; great-grandchildren Oliver and Linnea; a sister, Barbara Landau and husband Lawrence of Oak Ridge, TN; two nieces and two nephews.
Visiting hours will be in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, Nov. 1st from 2:00 – 5:00pm. There will be a prayer service during the hours beginning at 3:30.
A Committal Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, on Monday November 3rd at 11:00am. Donations in Constance’s name may be made to the First Congregational Church Organ Fund, 2 East Central St., Natick, MA 01760, or the Morse Institute Library, 14 East Central St, Natick, MA 01760.
