Johnson, Mary (Nakamura), 90, of Louisville passed away Friday, October 24, 2014.
This special lady was born on April 8th, 1924 in Ault, CO to the late Kiyata and Tomae Nakamura and spent most of her childhood in Kemmerer, WY. After graduating from High School, she bravely moved, by herself to Kentucky where she met and married Hallie Earl Johnson who preceded her in death.
To this union were born five children, Clarence, Betty Jewell (Dennis), Terry (Sharon), Peggy Spear (Mike) and Joy Kerr (Jim). There are seven grandchildren & eight great grandchildren who she cherished dearly. She is also survived by one brother, Mike of Salt Lake City, UT and a large host of family and friends who share our loss.
Serving the Lord was her life as she was a long time and very faithful member of Zion United Baptist Church and a friend to everyone she met. It was her request that expressions of sympathy be sent to Zion United Baptist Church, C/O Ted Wahnowsky, 1009 Mullins Ln, Louisville, Ky. 40245.
Funeral arrangements by Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy. with visitation on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 11:00 AM– 8:00 PM and after 9:00 AM Wednesday. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Zion United Baptist Church 7436 Ralston Ave. Louisville, KY 40258
