Virginia "Ginny" (Gillis) Dutra, 50, of Assonet, Ma passed away October 22, 2014 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Jean Gillis and the late Robert D. Gillis. She was born and raised in Brockton, Ma. She attended Brockton schools and graduated Brockton High, class of 1981. She worked at Tobey Hospital for many years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her granddaughter. She is survived by her mother, Jean Gillis of Indian Harbour, Fl; her brother, Andrew Gillis of Rockledge, Fl; her daughter, Jessica Murray and granddaughter, Gabreanna Murray, both of Assonet, Ma; and her best friend of many years, Christine Gonet of Fairhaven, Ma. She now joins her father, Robert, who recently passed away.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11am on November 6th, 2014, at St. Bernard Church, 30 South Main St(Rte. 79), Assonet Ma. Burial will be private at a later date.
