WILLIAM JEKEL, SR., 77, passed away on October 24, 2014. He was a retired fire fighter having worked for the Civil Service at Ft. Knox, and member of Beechland Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Prickett, granddaughter, Brandy Arnold, and his sister, June Brunick. Survivors include his devoted wife of 39 years, Wanda Jekel, the former Wanda Drury; children, William Jekel, Jr. (Patty), Ralph Jekel (Sheryl), Sherry Hale (Jimmy) and Bobby Arnold (Cindy); grandchildren, Dawn, Kimberlie, Joshua, Robbie, Tiffany, Kristina and Anthony; great grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson, Drew, Amelia and Jeremiah; brothers, Charles (Pat), Clarence (Shirley), Jerry (Judy) and Joseph Jekel; and sisters, Mary Lou Atzinger (Seebert), and Alice Morris (Ronnie). Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday.
