Alva Jean Douglas, 67, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Pruitt Health of Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Dewain Joiner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1 P.M.
Ms. Douglas was born November 21, 1946, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Sylvester & Ruby Smith Douglas. She attended Fitzgerald High School and had lived in Fitzgerald all of her life. She helped take care of her mother and was a very loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She attended the Fitzgerald Church of God.
She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty Jo & Tim Costa and Nell & George Johnson, both of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Bennie Douglas.
