Thomas J. Dolan
Retired MBTA Motorman/Conductor

TEWKSBURY: Thomas J. Dolan, age 78, a resident of Tewksbury for 14 years, formerly of North Andover and Swampscott, passed away at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill on Thursday, October 23, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Byrne) Dolan, with whom he celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 3, 2014.
Born in Swampscott on September 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles J. Dolan and the late Susan (Harrington) Dolan.
Tom was raised in Swampscott, attended Swampscott schools and graduated from Swampscott High School in 1954.
Following high school he attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a motorman and conductor for the M.B.T.A, where he worked 35 years. In addition, he served his hometown of Swampscott as a member of the Auxiliary Police.
He resided in Swampscott for 58 years until moving to North Andover and Tewksbury in 2000.
Tom was a former member of the Swampscott Knight of Columbus.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid model train enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marybeth D. O'Connor and her husband Edward of Andover and Patricia A. Neil and her husband Robert of Melrose; four grandchildren, Sean, Matthew, and Kevin O'Connor and Christopher Neil; two brothers, William Dolan and his wife Claire of Lynn and Charles J. "Joe" Dolan and his wife Emily of Swampscott; also many nieces and nephews.
Tom was the brother of the late John Dolan and Patricia Tenaglia.

Calling hours are Sunday, Oct. 26, from 3-6 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 27, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Following cremation, interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Kindly Omit Flowers.
