Rita L. Sipsey, 93, of Andover passed away Wednesday October 22nd at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover. She was born in St Sophie, Canada daughter of Eva (Prince) and Wilfred Labonte. Rita was a long time parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in South Lawrence and was part of the church choir for 20 years and was also a member of the Third Order of Mary. She took great pride in her home and in her free time she enjoyed designing hats, but most of all took great pleasure spending time with her family.
Rita is survived by her husband of 61 years George X. Sipsey of Andover, son John P. Sipsey of Hudson NH, grandsons Eric and Sean Sipsey of Hudson NH, sisters Annette Audet of Lawrence, Carmelle Rondeau of Manchester NH, Gabrielle Meehan of Manchester NH, Beatrice Rizzo of Manchester NH, and brother in law John J. Sipsey of Methuen. Besides her parents Rita is also predeceased by three sisters Jane Berube, Yvette Labonte, Bertha Croteau, and a brother Jean Paul Labonte.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday October 27th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday October 28th at 10 AM also at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
