Elizabeth V. Mahoney age 90 of Canton, passed away October 23, 2014 at the Sherrill House in Boston. Born in Cambridge Betty was raised in Dorchester and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She earned her Teaching Degree from Emmanuel College, Class of 1945, and a Masters in Teaching from Boston University in 1946. Professor Mahoney taught Spanish at Stonehill College for 36 years and at Emmanuel College for 12 years. Professor Mahoney retired from teaching in 1995. Devoted daughter of the late John J. & Elizabeth (Kelley) Mahoney. Loving sister of the late John J. Mahoney and his late wife Rita. Also survived by several loving cousins. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Sunday from 2-4 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Monday morning at 10. Burial St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations may be made in her memory to “Our Neighbors in Need” c/o St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021. | |||||
