Matthew C. Mulholland III, 64, passed away on October 23, 2014, with his family by his side.
Matt was the loving husband of Martha Pye Mulholland, for 41 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Suzanne Mulholland and fiancé Steven Lockwood of Halifax; son, Matthew Mulholland and wife Stacey of Chelmsford, and two grandchildren, Jacob and Charlotte Mulholland, sister Jane Mulholland Baker and other family members. Matt was predeceased by his parents, Matt and Dorothy, and siblings Ann and David.
Matt was an appliance repairman who grew up in Hingham. He served 2 years in the Army and one year in the National Guard. He lived and raised his family in Abington, where he was very active in the veteran community, including organizing parades. He was a member of both the American Legion Post 112 and the Vietnam Era Post 2 where he enjoyed watching sports and socializing with friends. For many years he enjoyed camping and fishing at Sandy Neck Beach with his family and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday October 27 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Parish, 44 Park Ave., Whitman. Visiting hours will be at the C.C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Sunday from 3-7 PM. Interment will be at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington.
