Barbara A. (Barteaux) McClory, age 82, died Oct. 22 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary (Marmaud) Barteaux and beloved wife of Charles R. Swirka and the late Raymond McClory and the late James Quinn.
Barbara was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class of 1949 and for the last 60 years, she was involved in her Special Club with her high school chums who were her deepest friends in the world. She was a CCD Teacher at St. Ann’s Church in Peabody for many years and a switchboard operator at Union Hospital for 10 years and prior to retirement worked in the accounting office at the Boston Machine Company.
Her loving husband, Charlie, her family and her faith were the most important things in her life. She was greatly loved by all who had the privilege to know her and will be missed tremendously.
She is survived by her two sons, Dean McClory and his wife Karen of Peabody, Daniel McClory and his wife Susan of Middleton; three daughters, Dawn Morgan and her husband Stephen of Peabody, Debra Connors and her husband Sean of Washington, MA and Dianne Howard and her husband Robert of Peabody. Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ralph Barteaux and Helen McIlwain.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Assisting the family with arrangements is the NADWORNY FUNERAL HOME, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, MA 01905. Donations in her memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
