Obituary

Frances E. (Roche) Bergstrom, 85, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21st in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. Her husband of 62 years, Frederick E. Bergstrom, Sr., died in January. She leaves two sons, Frederick E. Bergstrom, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Westborough and James S. Bergstrom and his wife Maureen of Upton; two daughters, Ann E. Murphy and her husband T. Michael of Ashburnham and Catherine L. Fogarty of Rutland; three brothers, Richard T. Roche of Mexico, Stephen P. Roche of Whitinsville and Gerald K. Roche of West Brookfield; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Robert and Ambrose Roche, and Helena Greenwald and Ann M. Roche.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Ambrose B. and Florence A. (Snyder) Roche and graduated from St. Peter’s High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Bergstrom was a nurse for many years at St. Vincent Hospital, retiring in 1987. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Parish, where she sang in the choir. Family and work were of the utmost importance to Frances.
Her funeral is Monday, October 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 26th in the funeral home.
