Obituary

LEICESTER: Joseph J. Rollins, 90, of Washburn St., died Tuesday, Oct. 21 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Maria A, (Szenk) Rollins, his daughters Susan Rollins-Daige and Karen Eldridge, his son Joseph Rollins all of Leicester, eight grandchildren James Pusateri, Jenna, Jillian and Joseph Rollins, Christopher and Ryan Daige, Jessica and Jared Eldridge, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother William Rollins, and sisters Ann Gamble, Dorothy Marengo and Mary Saxton.

Joe was a 5th.. Grade teacher at the Leicester Center School for 37 years, retiring in 1990.

Born in Leicester, he was the son of James and Domitell (Zablo) Rollins. He graduated from Leicester High School and later served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII.

He graduated from Leicester High, and Clark University, and earned his Master’s Degree from Worcester State College. He was a member of St. Pius X Church.

Joe was an avid golfer, enjoyed hiking, gardening and nature and his many trips to Foxwoods.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 10am. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. There are no calling hours. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is directing arrangements for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Trinity, 300 Barber Street, Worcester, Ma. 01606
