The Villages, FL – Mrs. Mildred O. Lacy, formerly of Augusta, GA, entered into rest on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret O. Lacy and Marcos Pernia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Central Christian Church with Rev. Emmitt “Tip” Carroll officiating. Interment to follow in West View Cemetery.
Mildred was a member of Central Christian Church, where she was active in the Helping Hands, Golden Agers, Christian Women’s Fellowship and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved playing Bingo and was always quick to make a joke. Mildred will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Lacy is survived by her sister, Margaret “Boots” Starnes and many family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lacy; her parents, Samuel Lewis and Lula Daniel; her sisters, Lula Garner, Irene Toole, and Thelma Nelson; and by her granddaughter, Renee Fowler.
Pallbearers will be Gary Judy, Frank Thomas, Edward Gilliland, Steve Willard, Harold Gay, and Tony O’Tyson.
