Obituary

Silvio “Sal” Salvucci, age 80, passed away at the South Shore Hospital surrounded by his loving children on October 17, 2014. Sal was the husband of the late Elaine D. (Ridlon) Salvucci and is survived by his children, Steven Salvucci of Plymouth, Mark Salvucci of Hingham, Karen Clawson of Kingston and Lisa Grafton of Abington. He also leaves his brothers, Leo Salvucci and Bruno Salvucci, his sister, Donata Thomas, his 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Silvio was predeceased by his parents, Gerarda and Donato Salvucci and his 3 sisters, Filomena Araujo, Rita Battista and Angela Ahearn. Sal was born and grew up in Brighton and has lived in S. Weymouth for the last 50 years. Silvio was a bricklayer and a member of the Mason’s Union Local 3 for 45 years and served his country in the Army during the Korean War. The joy of his life was his 12 grandchildren.
The Funeral will be from the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Wednesday, October 22 at 8:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at the St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St. S. Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be on Tuesday from 4to8 PM. Interment will be in the Hingham Cemetery.
