Gertrude C. Pignolet, 96, formerly of Unity St, died on October 17, 2014 in the Ballou Home, Woonsocket. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Jules R. Pignolet. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Oliva and Gertrude (Coutu) Allard.
Gertrude was a Past-president of the Precious Blood Ladies Guild for four years. She also sang, participating in the Ebbtide Choir and the Precious Blood Choir.
She is survived by three sons, Jules L. Pignolet of FL, Paul Pignolet and his wife Jackie of Bellingham, Lawrence Pignolet and his wife Jill Blais-Pignolet of Mapleville, two daughters, Jeanne Sylvestre of Pascoag and Laura Sunderland of Woonsocket, her brothers, Rev. George L. Allard of North Providence and Richard Allard of AZ, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Normand Allard and Irene Gervais.
Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 22, at 10:00AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St, Woonsocket. Calling hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Precious Blood Church.
