Albert R. “Betho” Megna, 96, of Somerville, died Thursday after a long illness in the Chelsea Soldiers Home, Chelsea.

Born in Boston, he lived in Somerville for the past 60 years and was formerly of the West End of Boston. He was the son of the late Santa (D'Amato) and Vincent Megna. Betho was a Salesman, with Mutual Produce in Chelsea for many years and retired 34 years ago. He also was a member of Local 25. Albert was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946.

Beloved husband of Margaret (Quattrochi). Devoted father of Vincent Megna of Somerville and Frank Megna of Hyde Park. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren and 1 loving great granddaughter. Brother of the late Rose Strazzula, Sarah Bramante, Margaret Martino, Mary DiMuzio, Mamie Carpenter, Salvatore, Anthony and Joseph Megna.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
