HANNIGAN Sister Anne Michael SNDdeN, born Alice Hannigan died peacefully on October 16, 2014, at the Saint Julie Billiart Residence, Ipswich, MA. Sister was born on August 2, 1934 in Milton, MA. the daughter of the late Francis and Alice (Martin) Hannigan., sister of the late James, John and Francis Hannigan, Anne Sheehan and Catherine McSharry. Sister received her Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees from Emmanuel College. Sister taught in many schools throughout the Archdiocese of Boston and for the past 18 years served as Director of Religious Education at St. Mary’s Parish in Dedham. Sister is survived by her many Sisters of Notre Dame and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sister Anne’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 20, at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St. Dedham. Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00PM. A Prayer Service will take place at 4:30. Interment Milton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur at 351 Broadway, Everett MA 02149.
