Whitman – Edmund B. “Ed” Fitzpatrick 84, a longtime resident of the South Shore, died Thursday October 16 after a period of failing health.
Born in Webster, MA he was the son of the late John and Marguerite (Fountain) Fitzpatrick.
Ed was a proud veteran having served many years in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement he had worked as a night manager for the Stop & Shop Company.
He is survived by his sons Mark Favazza of Framingham and Keith Favazza of Rockland, his foster son Jack Gauthier of NC, his brothers John and Jim Fitzpatrick both of NH and his sister Margaret “Peg” Petrino of Methuen. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Wednesday October 22 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow at 1 PM in the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM.
