Obituary

WEBSTER - Edward L. Lucier, 72, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard after being stricken ill at home.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Janice (Quinn) Lucier; a son, Scott M. Lucier and his wife Christine; 3 grandchildren, Amy Kirwan and her husband David, Dalton E. Lucier and Sydney E. Lucier; a great-granddaughter, Delaney Kirwan; his former daughter-in-law, Patricia Lucier, all of Webster; a sister, Lois McDonald of Worcester; 5 brothers, Gerald Lucier of Florida, Douglas Lucier of Worcester, Robert and Alan Lucier, both of Oxford, and Thomas Lucier of Douglas; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Jarvis in 1994.
He was born in Worcester, the first son of Edward A. and Blanche (Goyette) Lucier, and lived there until moving to Webster in 1987.
Mr. Lucier first worked as a crane operator for 20 years at Standard Foundry in Worcester. He then was the manager of the car wash at the former Exxon Station in Webster for 14 years before retiring in 2008. He was affectionately known as “Ed the Car Wash Man.”
He was an avid fresh and salt water fisherman. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots.
Calling hours will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 24, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
