NEW BEDFORD — Robert Ashley Thompson, age 82, of New Bedford, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at home. He was the widower of Mary (McCarthy) Thompson.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late William C. And Zelpha (Wolfson) Thompson, he was employed as a cranberry picker and house builder.
He is survived by his sister Rita Perry and his brothers John and Henry; and several step-children; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Monday, Oct. 20th from 10 - 11:30 a.m. in the WILSON CHAPEL, 479 County St., New Bedford to be followed by a graveside service at noon in the Centre Cemetery in Rochester. www.wilsonchapel.net
