t is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Wade of Ventura. She was called home by our Heavenly Father on October 15, 2015 at the age of 85. Jean was a long time Ventura resident, moving here in 1963 with her husband Bob and their three children, Linda, Jim, and Susan.
She devoted her life to the care of her family. taking great pride in their accomplishments. She especially loved attending her son’s musical concerts with as many family members and friends as she could gather for the preformances.
Jean and her beloved husband, Bob traveled all across the United States.they loved seeing the many beautiful places our country has in abundance. When her husband learned to sail, they bought a sailboat and raced with the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club. Both were active members of the yacht club and won many trophies.
Jean was an active member of the Ventura Baptist Church where she made many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bob, in 2006 and her mother Marie Monagin in 2013.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children, Linda Wade, James Wade, and Susan Carragher, her brother Maurice Monagin as well as four grandchildren, James Wade, Katie Carey, Jeff Grupe, and Molly Grupe; as well as five great grandchildren.
Jean was loved, admired and made all whom she touched richer and better for knowing her. We will miss her dearly every day.
Graveside services celebrating Jean’s life will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 with Pastor Leonard Dewitt officiating.
