Shirley (Hosmer) Maloon

NATICK: Shirley (Hosmer) Maloon, 92, died peacefully and comfortably on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Natick on September 9, 1922 the daughter of the late William I. Hosmer and Marion E. (Neal) Hosmer.
Shirley was the devoted and loving wife of the late William T. “Bill” Maloon who died on April 25, 2012. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great-grand nieces and great- grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Virginia Harcovitz.
Shirley has been a lifelong resident of Natick and with her husband Bill, spent their retirement years at their home in Plymouth which they both enjoyed.
Shirley was a graduate of Natick High School with the Class of 1941 and graduated with the Class of 1943 from the Girls Trade School in Boston as a beautician. In her later years, she was employed as a food server and cafeteria monitor for the Natick Public Schools. She was a former member of the First Congregational Church of Natick and the Community United Methodist Church of Cochituate.
Visitations will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Hosmer-Maloon lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Cochituate.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests that memorial gifts in Shirley’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
