Rufus Ronald Musslewhite, 63, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Friday, October 17, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Elder Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6 to 8, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Musselwhite was born December 12, 1950, in Fitzgerald, to the late Rufus and Lonell Coleman Musslewhite. He graduated from Fitzgerald High School and lived in the area all his life. Mr. Musselwhite was retired from Shaw Industries in Fitzgerald, where he worked in the card room as a yarn mover. He enjoyed cutting grass, roller-skating, dancing and was an avid fan of the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes. Mr. Musselwhite was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife: Sudie M. Musslewhite of Fitzgerald; daughter: Cynthia Denise Thomas & Mark of Fitzgerald; stepdaughters: Lisa Smith & Greg of Bartow, Florida and Shirley Duckworth & Ronnie of Douglas; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother: Phillip H. Musslewhite of Fitzgerald; sisters: Patricia M. Cantrell, and Jessie M. Griffin both of Fitzgerald. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Glenda Musslewhite.
