TAUNTON – Ernest V. “Rocky” Roma, son of the late Rocco and Ida (Spiezio) Roma, died at his Taunton home on Oct. 12, 2014.
He was 76.
Born and raised in Taunton, Rocky attended Taunton schools and later graduated from Mansfield High School in 1959.
He owned and operated the former Rocky’s Barber Shop located on Broadway in Taunton for over fifty years.
He retired in 2007. A member of the Raynham Lions Club and the Taunton Pistol Club, Rocky enjoyed traveling, music, singing and ballroom dancing.
An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he had worked as security guard for the Patriots many years ago.
He was a communicant of Mary’s Church in Taunton.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton on Saturday, Oct. 18th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s Square, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Oct 17th from 5 to 8 p.m.
