Obituary

Bruno G. Guerra, age 89, of Brockton died Sunday October 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Manor after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Moynihan) Guerra for 48 years. Bruno had been a resident of Emmanuel House for several years.
Bruno was born and raised in Brockton and was a well known figure for many years on the sales floor of Central Radio Company in Brockton. A 1942 graduate of Brockton High School and Bentley University, Bruno also served as a tax preparer for many Brockton area residents.
Starting as a violinist with the Whitman Philharmonic Orchestra, he later went on the road with the big Eddie Nystrom Dance Band as a bass player. During WWII he served with the Army 9th Company 25th Infantry. Member of the Wampatuck Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Hanson, MA.
Bruno is survived by his two nephews Barry Guerra and his wife Jenny of Brockton and Bruce Guerra and his wife Ellen of E. Bridgewater and a sister-in-law Eleanor Moynihan of Bridgewater. He was the special friend of Marion Anderson and brother of the late Joseph Guerra.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-7 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
