Annie Mildred "Millie" (McCree) Mendez, 86, of New Bedford transitioned October 13, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Joseph A. "Jumper" Mendez.
Born in Athens, GA, the daughter of the late Richard O. and Alma (Barnes) McCree, she had lived in New Bedford since 1966.
She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.
Over the past forty plus years, Mrs. Mendez worked for numerous families from Marion to Dartmouth. She also worked for several years at Aerovox before it closed.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ann McCree of Bridgeport, CT; a brother, Homer Frank McCree of Detroit, MI; a sister, Alma Elizabeth McCree of Stamford, CT; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren: nieces and nephews who shared great times with her.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17th at 11:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her family will receive guests on Friday morning from 10 - 11:30 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
