Obituary

Kathleen M. (Wilson) Wenckus of Natick passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at her home surrounded by her caring and loving family. She was 56 years old.

Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on February 23, 1958, she was the cherished daughter of the late William W. “Bill” and Florence M. (Sceles) Wilson.

Kathleen was raised in Natick and a 1975 graduate of Natick High School. She attended Massbay College, worked as a waitress and manager in the restaurant business however; her true passion was her family and friends. What mattered most to Kathleen was taking care of others.

She loved boating with her husband, Sebago Lake in Maine, family get-togethers and entertaining. She was a member of the Newton Yacht Club and past president of the Newton Yacht Club Auxiliary.

Kathleen was the devoted wife of Daniel P. Wenckus of Natick and together they just celebrated their thirteenth anniversary on September 17th.

She was the loving mother of Michael Wade Wilson of Natick and proud grandmother of Destiny Marie O’Brien of Ft. Myers, Florida.

Caring sister of Stephen W. Wilson of Vestal, NY, Wendy A. Wilson of Natick, Debra J. Hebert and her husband Steven of Millbury, Diane M. Tobin and her husband John of Southborough and Christine Smaldone and her husband Bill of Westborough.

Daughter-in-law of Joan E. (Besso) Wenckus of Waltham and the late John J. Wenckus. Sister-in-law of Carol A. Murphy and her husband Richard of Waltham, Brian P. Wenckus of Waltham, Lynne M. Patten and her husband Richard also of Waltham, Lisa J. Maloney and her husband Terry of Framingham and the late John J. Wenckus.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dogs Jake, Hunter and Dutchess.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick on Tuesday, October 14th at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Interment is private and memorial contributions in Kathleen’s memory may be made to the Beth Israel Deaconess Cancer Center, 148 Chestnut St., Needham, MA 02492 or the John J. Wenckus, 9-11 Memorial Fund c/o Carol Murphy, 54 Alder St., Waltham, MA 02453.
