Delia (Zarrella) Cormier, age 85, of Brockton died Wednesday October 8, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife for over 50 years of the late C. Harvey Cormier (ret. Captain, BFD). Born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Peter and Marion (Delsie) Zarrella, Delia had live in the city for most of her life.
A 1946 graduate of Brockton High School, Delia had been a dental hygienist for Dr. Robert H. Tait for many years. She had also worked as a teacher’s aide at the Arnone School in Brockton.
Delia enjoyed worldwide travel with her husband and loved all animals especially dogs. She had been a member of the PM Club and the Sons of Italy and was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Delia’s true joy in life was her family especially spending time with her granddaughter.
Delia was the loving mother of Cindi L. Galiher and her husband John of Chatham, NJ and the cherished grandmother of Brianna Lane Galiher. She also leaves a brother John Zarrella of California, a sister Annamay Haviland of California and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday 2-6 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 8 am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
