Obituary

John J. "Jack" Leonard, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at The VA Hospital in West Roxbury, Mass. with his loving wife and family by his side. Jack was born in Newark, New Jersey to Francis and Mary (Danahy) Leonard on June 7, 1932. After attending Lawrence High School and Newman Preparatory School, he enlisted in The United States Air Force during The Korean War.Jack was a licensed real estate broker and until his recent retirement, owned and operated Station Realty in Lawrence, MA since 1986. Jack was a proud member of The Lawrence Exchange Club.
Jack was an avid runner until his mid 70's, participating in many road races. Jack enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family especially at the beach.
In addition to his beloved wife of 57 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Leonard, Jack is survived by three loving daughters, Jayne Beaton and husband Steve, of Amherst, NH, Sharon Robinson and husband Jeff, of Salem, NH, Maryann Leonard-White, and husband Gene of Pelham, NH.
Jack will be missed by his five grandchildren; Ryan White, Erica Hall, Rebecca Hall, Christopher Beaton, Alex Beaton; four great grandsons, Troy, Theodore, Trevor, and Abel.
Jack is also survived by his brother Edward Leonard and his wife Sandy, of Brentwood NH; brother in-laws John Ord, Richard DeFelice and George Maki, Jr. as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Jack was predeceased by his sisters Francis Crowe, Patricia Brown, Mary Ord, and Margie DeFelice.


Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday October 14, 2014 from 9 to 11 am at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.
