Barbara M. (Fisher) Maragioglio, 78, of Norwood, formerly of Dedham and Walpole, died October 6, in the Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. She was the wife of the late Matthew Maragioglio who died in 1989.
Born in Boston, April 26, 1936, the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Ellen (Shanahan) Fisher, Mrs. Maragioglio was raised in Jamaica Plain and had lived in Hyde Park, Dedham and Walpole prior to moving to Norwood 10 years ago.
Mrs. Maragioglio had worked in the cafeteria at Dedham High School and also had been a cook at the Sharon Manor.
Barbara was a woman who always cared greatly for her parents, husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and friends.
She is survived by her children, Linda Carr of Walpole and Lisa Joyce of Rockland.
She is also survived by her siblings, Martin Fisher of Scituate, Claire Howard of Norton, Mary Lou Harrigan of North Haven, Connecticut, Kathleen Coffey of Dedham, Diane Cornell of Plainville and Karen Becker of Walpole.
She was the sister of the late Thomas and Kenneth Fisher and Lorraine Cerullo.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Carr, Jacqueline Carr, Stephanie Witham, Nicole Joyce and Marissa Joyce, and her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Matthew, Abigail, Alyssa and Alivia.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 9 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Walpole at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
