Laconia------Pauline L. (Barnes) Hoffman, 87, 21 Ledges Drive, Taylor Community died peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2014.
Polly was born February 28, 1927 in So. Weymouth, Mass., the daughter of Milton A. and Doris (Hadley) Barnes. She was a longtime resident of Hingham, Mass. before moving to Lakes Region in 1979.
Polly loved music and loved to sing. She was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church and sang in the choir for over 25 years, and was a member of the Pemigewasset Choral Society for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Opechee Garden Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and
great grand mother.
Survivors include her husband of 68years, John B. Hoffman, of Laconia; a son, E. Harl Hoffman, of East Barre, Vermont; two daughters, Doris E. Wood and Virginia A. Barunas both of Gilford; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchild; ten nieces and seven nephews. In addition to her parents, Polly was predeceased by a brother, Milton A. Barnes, Jr., and her sisters, Edwina Lawton, and Doris

There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Laconia Congregational Church, 69 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be held at a later date in the family lot in North Weymouth Cemetery, North Weymouth, Mass.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Laconia Hospice, or Taylor Community music/entertainment fund.
