New Bedford – William Sanchez Colon, age 66 of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of Herminia Colon and Alfonso Sanchez. After moving to this country, William worked as an Insurance Salesman until his retirement.
Mr. Sanchez Colon was well liked by everyone and was known for his good sense of humor and for being a very friendly man. William also enjoyed playing the lottery especially scratch tickets.
His family includes his 4 children: Catalina Sanchez and her husband, Jose Jeronimo Perez, of New Bedford, William Sanchez and his wife, Sonia Ramos, of Waterbury, CT, Ilia D. Sanchez of New Bedford and the late Omar Sanchez, 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as several siblings in Puerto Rico.
There will be Visitation in the funeral home on Friday, Oct 10 from 6 – 8 P.M. with a Religious Service to take place during that time. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Cremation will follow. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, Ma.
