Theresa B. (McCabe) Benoit, age 87, of Lakeville, formerly of Brockton, died October 2, 2014 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert J. Benoit. Born, raised and educated in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Rose E. (McMaugh) McCabe. Theresa was an employee for 45 years of Woodward’s Auto Spring Shop in Brockton, until she retired in 2002. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish where she sang in the choir and was a CCD teacher. She was also a former member of the Twentieth Century Catholic Club and Ireland’s Own. Theresa enjoyed listening to and sharing her time with family, watching TV, reading, and playing cards.
She is survived by three children Michael J. Benoit of Bridgewater, Kathleen M. Benoit of Lakeville and Paul A. Benoit of Cape Coral, FL; a grandson Thomas P. Benoit; a brother Joseph McCabe of Cape Coral, FL and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Tuesday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
