Laconia----Beverly Ann (Currier) Maheux, 83, of 76 Dartmouth Street, died at her home on Friday, October 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Maheux was born May 18, 1931 in Wolfeboro, N.H., the daughter of the late Charles and Verna (Gilman) Currier.
Mrs. Maheux was a longtime resident of Laconia and graduated in 1952 from the Laconia Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by Lakes Region General Hospital for over thirty years as a Pediatric Nurse. She was a very active communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a longtime member of the Ladies’ Guild. She was a member of the Former Graduate Nurses Association, a former Cub Scout Leader for Pack #68, a former member of the Opechee Park Club, a member of A.A.R.P. and was a Selectman for Ward 3 for many years.
Bev was a spirited wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her family was the most important part of her life. She loved the holidays and loved to decorate her home which added a special touch to the neighborhood.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-three years, Alphonse “Buster” Maheux, of Laconia; two sons, David C. Maheux and his wife, Patti, and Bruce M. Maheux and his wife, Flo, all of Laconia; a daughter, Donna Jean Maheux Watterson, and her husband, Daryl, of Sullivan; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maheux was predeceased by her two sisters, Jacqueline Mortland and Janice Currier.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 1:00-3:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00AM at St. Andre Bessette Parish, St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, N.H.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
