Dale came from a long line of family involved in law enforcement. He served as a former Norton Police Officer for over 20 years with the distinction of being one of the few members of the force to work at the original police stations when housed at the former town hall on Taunton Avenue, at the present town hall on East Main Street, and later at the towns new police headquarters. He was a member of the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police Bay State Lodge 30, and when younger, had also served as a Norton Call Firefighter.
For fun, Dale enjoyed cruising around town around and was always “on patrol“. He loved hooking up with friends and some of his favorite places to hang out included the Norton VFW, Downtown Pizza and Alberto’s.
Dale’s family was an important part of his life. He especially enjoyed t times spent on Cape Cod, playing card games with his grandchildren, and entertaining those around him with his remarkable sense of humor and exceptional cooking skills.
He was extremely proud of his families accomplishments, which included his nephew Brian Clark being appointed as Police Chief for the Town of Norton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving and devoted daughters; Debra L. Johnson and her husband Wayne Johnson of Norton and Cindy L. Dennett and her husband Norton Police Sergeant Jacob Dennett of Norton. He was the dear brother of Beverly J. Ebert of Attleboro, and the late retired Norton Police Sergeant Walter Clark and the late retired Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant Merle L. Clark, Jr. He was the cherished grandfather of Victoria Johnson, Rachael Johnson, Gabriel Dennett, Ashten Dennett, Brooke Dennett and Callie Dennett. He was the brother in law of Anne Clark, Jill Clark, Jill Wheeler, Audrey Libby, and the late Earl Ebert, Robert Libby and William Wheeler, Sr. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and his grand puppy “Neely”.
