Obituary

Henry “Hank” Simonetti, 74, of Douglas Pike, died Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Hospice Inpatient Center surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Margaret “Peg” (McFadden ) Simonetti. They had been married for 54 years.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Henry F. Simonetti, Sr. and Catherine (Ferri) Simonetti. He had lived in Smithfield for the past 42 years.
Hank was the General Manager of Apollo Motors in Cumberland before retiring in 2005. He had previously worked at the former Tom Ricci Motors and other area car dealers. He was a lector, Eucharistic minister and communicant of St. Michael’s Church. He was a Past President of the North Providence Rotary and an avid Yankees fan. He was a US Navy Veteran.
Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Lori Simonetti of North Providence, Robin Kerwin and her husband, William of Smithfield, two grandsons, Matthew Kerwin and his wife, Kelly of North Providence and Mark Kerwin of Smithfield. He was the brother of Joyce D’Alessio of Providence.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial with military honors in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Friday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church.
