Obituary

James L. Lavezzo of Natick passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence of Wayland. He was sixty years old.

Born on November 23, 1953 in Boston, he was the son of the late William A. and Joan D. (Harris) Lavezzo.

Jim was raised in Natick and a 1971 graduate of Newton Technical High School.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years, Mary Ann (Giannetti) Lavezzo of Natick, two adored daughters and one son-in-law, Gina and Michael Caulfield of Medway and Lisa Lavezzo of Natick.

His brothers Michael Lavezzo of Natick, John Lavezzo and his wife Cindy of Dunedan, Florida and Gregory Lavezzo of Marlborough. He was predeceased by his brother William Lavezzo and his wife Kathleen. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jim was a family man, enjoyed cooking and was a long-time and dedicated employee of the Town of Natick for over twenty-seven years.

He was past commissioner of the Natick Men’s Softball League, a USSSA and ASA Softball Umpire, the former president and vice president of the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA) Local 1116, a Natick Town Constable and an “all-a-round” extraordinaire at Casey’s Diner.

He was active in many area golf leagues and a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Natick. Following his passion for music, Jim played the drums with many bands over the years and especially loved his annual participation in Natick’s 4th of July Parade with his blues band.

Jim loved to ride his Harley Davidson up the coast of New England with friends and enjoyed his summers in Hampton Beach.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the funeral on Saturday, October 4th at 9:00AM from the John Everett & Sons Funeral home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10:00AM.

Visiting hours Friday from 4:00-8:00PM. Burial is private.
