Helen E. (Sabeika) Marshall, age 94, of Norton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Milton Marshall to whom she was wed for the past 49 years.
Born in Cambridge, MA on January 7, 1920, she was a loving daughter of the late Lithuanian natives George and Anna (Baranauskas) Sabeika.
Following the death of her mother at a young age, Helen, along with her father and brother returned to Lithuania. She later moved back to the United States where she settled in Somerville and was educated in Somerville schools. She also had the opportunity to attend business school in Boston.
A resident of Norton for the past 45 years, Mrs. Marshall had worked as a secretary at the former International Paper Co. in Boston, prior to retiring. She had previously been employed at the former Sears Roebuck and Company in Kenmore Square
Helen’s favorite times spent were those amongst family and friends; especially at her family’s vacation home in Sunapee, New Hampshire.
Her interests included cooking, knitting, caring for her pet dogs and the simple pleasure of relaxing at home while her husband entertained her by playing the piano.
She was predeceased by her sister and brother and in addition to her husband, she is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, October 2nd from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St.(Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Helen’s family has quested that donations in her memory be made to the Mansfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 25, Mansfield, MA 02048.
