James J. Cotter age 91 passed away September 26th at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain, he attended Boston English High School and was a Navy Veteran of WW II. Jim worked for the MBTA as an Engineer for many years before retiring. He has live in Canton for the last 65 years where he was a member of the Wampatuck Country Club, Canton Town Club and the Knights of Columbus Council # 2095. Beloved husband for 65 years of Margaret M. (Brosnahan). Father of Danny Cotter and his wife Irene of Easton, Jim Cotter and his wife Traci of Plymouth, John Cotter of Easton, Matt Cotter and his wife Jane of Easton, Mary Lapanus and her husband Bill of Bristol, NH and Meg Peterson of E. Bridgewater. Father in law of the late Andrea Cotter and John Peterson. Brother of Irene Polito of Dedham and the late Edward Cotter, Mary Duff, Thomas and Gerard Cotter. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Church Canton Tuesday morning at 10:00. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. Navy Veteran WW II.
