Josephine Driscoll, 71, of Merrimack, NH, died Thursday September 25, 2014 in her home peacefully surrounded by her family after her sixth bout with Cancer. She was born in Everett, MA on December 5, 1942, a daughter of the late Michael and Jennie (Marra) Cassaccio. Josephine, a true inspiration to all, was a five-time Cancer survivor of Breast Cancer being first diagnosed in October of 1989. Josephine came down with various other Cancer’s five more times over the next 25 years, tackling the disease with the attitude “Either I beat this disease, or it beats me”. Josephine was loved by all and inspired countless Cancer patients to fight and never give up, no matter what ailments they face. Josephine brightened the lives of so many during her 25 years of battling Cancer. She will be dearly missed.
Josephine is survived by her loving husband Robert Driscoll; her two loving sons, Kenneth and Michael Kurland; her loving sister, Christine Zonce; her two loving brothers, John and Michael Casaccio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Monday, September 29th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
