Obituary

Mrs. Lisa M. (Dumont) Benevides, of East Taunton, died Wednesday, September 24 in the Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston, following a lengthy illness. She was born 51 years ago in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the daughter of Paul A. Dumont and the late Sandra L. (Rezac) Dumont. A lifelong city resident,she was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Bristol-Plymouth Technical High School. She received her Degree in Business Administration from Burdett College in Boston, and her Nursing Degree from the Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School in Easton. Lisa was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Golden Living Center – Oak Hill in Middleboro. She was previously employed at Longmeadow of Taunton, the Golden Living Center – Wedgemere, Marian Manor, and Life Care Center of Raynham. She was formerly a Candy Striper at Morton Hospital. She enjoyed camping, target shooting, visiting amusement parks, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her father, of Taunton, she leaves her children: Kayla Benevides of Newton, Kara Granville and her husband, James of Taunton, and Taylor Benevides of Taunton; 2 brothers: Paul V. Dumont and his fiancée Majorie Goulart of Taunton, and Craig V. Dumont and his wife, Debra of Norton; 1 sister: Patricia M. Lyon and her husband, Christopher of Taunton; 5 grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay Street, on Wednesday, October 1 at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN., 38101-9908. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
