James J. Sullivan formerly of Canton, passed away at the Sunrise Assisted Living in Burlington September 23rd . Born in Marblehead, he graduated from Hyde Park High School and attended Radio Engineering School. He worked as a Radio Engineer for WHDH in Boston for many years before retiring. He has lived in Canton since 1952 where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2095, member and past president of the Ponkapoag Civic Assn, and Usher at St. Gerard Majella Church, a volunteer for FISH and the Canton Food Pantry. Beloved husband of the late Mary K. (Day). Father of Richard Sullivan and his significant other Lillian Briguglio of Peabody, James A. Sullivan and his wife Joanne of Canton, and Cheryl S. Flaman of Walpole. Father in law of the late Terrance E. Flaman. Grandfather of Nicholas K. and Amanda M. Sullivan, Kelli D. Roberts and Todd E. Flaman. Great grandfather of Molly L. Flaman. Brother of William Sullivan of Burlington and Katherine Caliguire of Randolph. Jim was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 5-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Friday morning at 10 . Burial Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Assn 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
