Obituary

Laconia---Gail Marie Harbour, 53, of Laconia, N.H., died suddenly of a massive pulmonary embolism at her home on September 16, 2014. She was the third of four children born to Sally (Blakeney) and Edwin “Sonny” Harbour. She was born on August 13, 1961. She had numerous medical issues at birth and required several surgeries well into her teenage years. Some of these medical problems plagued her for her entire life but she never let them get her down. She laughed loud and often and she always wore a smile.
Gail went to Laconia High School, Class of 1979, and never missed a class reunion. She had too many friends to count and a family that loved her deeply. She was a member of the Laconia Rod and Gun Club Women’s Auxiliary and was active in both the NASCAR and football pools. She was looking forward to helping with the Santa Fund this year. She enjoyed NASCAR Racing and many will remember her love for driver, Jeff Gordon.
Gail worked at Laconia Magnetics in Laconia, N.H. for 14 years and was most recently on Disability. She was devoted to her daughter, son-in-law and grandson along with her step-children and numerous step- grandchildren. She loved her kids.
Gail is survived by her mother, Sally (Blakeney) Abbott, of Gilford; her daughter, Jodi (Hislop) Rhodes and her husband, Thomas, and grandson, Ethan Rhodes, all of Connecticut; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sue Harbour, of Gilford; a sister, Lisa Shepherd, of Laconia; nieces, Emily McDonald of New York, Christine Fowler of Gilford, Sara MacFadzen of Somersworth, Sydney Shepherd of Belmont and a nephew, Cody Shepherd of Laconia.
Gail was predeceased by her brother, Danny E. Harbour, in 2003; her father, Edwin “Sonny” Harbour, in 2005; her step-father, Frank L. Abbott, in 2013 and her grandparents.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Laconia Rod and Gun Club – Santa Fund, 358 South Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
