Emilia (Antunes) Andrade, 87, of Westport died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Somerset Ridge Center. Born in Westport, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Rosa) Antunes, she had lived in Westport for most of her life. She worked in several sewing shops in Fall River, retiring in her 80‘s. Mrs. Andrade was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She was an avid bingo player.
Survivors include her son: John W. Andrade, Jr. of Westport; a grandson: John W. “Buddy” Andrade III and his wife Carolyn of New Bedford; 2 great granddaughters: Hadleigh Marie Joelle and Braelyn Emilia; 2 sisters: Deolinda “Del” Cangiano of Westport and Adeline Morris of Bristol, RI; a brother: Antonio Antunes and his wife Tina of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Mary Perry, Connie Dubois, Alice Moore and Rose Manchester.
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Somerset Ridge Center for their compassionate care during this difficult time, words cannot express their gratitude.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, September 22, 2014 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church at 10 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 5 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
