Gertrude A. “Trudy” (Gladman) LaRosee, age 97, of Norton, formerly of Attleboro passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in London, England on May 9, 1917, she was a loving daughter of the late George T. and Gertrude A. (Randall) Gladman. At the age of four, her family moved to the United States where they first settled in Milford. She grew up in Milford and was a graduate of Milford High School.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. LaRosee had worked as an inspector at the former Crew’s Manufacturing Co. in Attleboro and had previously been employed as a supervisor at the former Wells Jewelry; also located in Attleboro.
Trudy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Her other involvements included being a member for over 45 years and former officer of the Norton Grange, and a longtime member of the Norton American Legion Post 222 Ladies Auxiliary.
Trudy loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family, and her other interests included playing cards and crocheting.
She is survived by her devoted children; Jacqueline A. Richardson and her husband Murrell of Kentucky, Francis C. LaRosee and his wife Sonny of Washington State, Walter G. LaRosee and his wife Nanette of Seekonk, Bernard S. LaRosee and his wife Deborah of Washington State, Judith A. McCarron of Norton, Linda J. Clegg of Berkley, Deborah G. Foster and her husband Mitchell of Attleboro and the late James T. LaRosee. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was dear mother in law of the late Edward McCarron and loving grandmother of the late Joey McCarron.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday September 22nd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, September 21st from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
